Rajaz is the thirteenth studio album by British progressive rock band Camel. Lots of albums and two decades had passed since their previous entry in my list. With Rajaz, a concept album on desert themes, they go back to their prog roots - this album is worthy to be mentioned in addition to their three best from the mid seventies. The singing of guitarist Andrew Latimer. never their strong point, is still adequate rather than great, but the compositions and the many instrumental passages are vintage Camel. Special mention for Three Wishes, The Final Encore, the brilliant instrumental Sahara, and especially Rajaz, one of my favourite Camel songs altogether.
