Bookends is the fourth studio album by Simon and Garfunkel, following their successful soundtrack album for the 1967 film
The Graduate. It is their only attempt at a concept album, depicting a life journey from childhood to old age.
America, with some of Simon's best lyrics, is the star of the album, but there is much to enjoy in the other songs, both the well-known hits and the other tracks, like
Old Friends,
Punky's Dilemma, and
A Hazy Shade Of Winter.
