The Snow Goose is the third studio album by the band Camel. The album is inspired by Paul Gallico's novella The Snow Goose. It was originally supposed to feature lyrics based on Gallico's text, but this was abandoned due to the copyright objections. Although it is widely seen as one of Camel's finest works, I've been struggling with it initially, because of the lack of vocals, which is not compensated by large variations in mood or pace. In the end though, by accepting the tracks as the soundscapes they were intended to be, I've come to rate the album almost as high as my two favourite Camel albums.
