Surfacing is the fourth studio album by Canadian singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan. The four years between the previous albums and this one were partially due to extensive touring, partially due to writers block. The sales were excellent, but the critical reviews were mixed, with the general consensus being that it was not as good as Fumbling to Ecstasy. I don't agree at all - I think it's her best. For me most of the songs are on par with the previous album, whereas Angel and especially her masterpiece Adia are far superior to anything she wrote before. Other songs that should be mentioned are Building A Mystery, I Love You, Do What You Have To Do, Witness, and Full Of Grace.
