Present from Nancy is the first studio album by Dutch progressive rock band Supersister. It is an astonishing tour de force, especially as the band members were all under 18 when they recorded this quirky masterpiece. The music is influenced by the likes of Pink Floyd, Soft Machine, Caravan and Zappa - yet they manage to achieve a unique own sound, with little humorous gestures as well: it includes a 20 seconds cover of Eight Miles High, which the Golden Earring had spun out to a 19 minutes epic. My favourite is the Gothic track Dona Nobis Pacem, featuring layers of electronic organ (hints of Arvo Pärt?), broken up near the end by a hilarious circus style intermezzo.
