Ashes Are Burning is the fourth studio album by the English progressive rock band Renaissance, the second with Annie Haslam as lead singer, and the first one where she sings with such confidence that she eventually became regarded as the first lady of prog. All six songs are strong, with the closing epic standing out as the best of them. It is the first in a series of great albums by this band in their own unique symphony prog folk style.
