Subterranea is the sixth studio album by British neo-progressive rock band IQ. It is a double CD concept album about a man who has been held captive in isolation all his life and suddenly gets to confront the outside world (full story in the excellent Wiki link). Two CD's is a lot, especially as I am not a great fan of the voice of singer Peter Nicholls, but there is such a wealth of great melodies and beautiful playing (including some killer saxophone) here that I just had to include it in my list. Some of my favourite tracks are Sleepless IncidentalTunnel VisionCapricornHigh Waters, and especially the combination The Sense In Sanity/State Of Mine
