Ghost Reveries is the eighth studio album by Swedish progressive metal band Opeth. On this album they return to the mixture of death metal growls and regular singing, in a well-balanced way. The songs are pure prog, with plenty of mellotron, and considerable variation, both between songs and within the longer tracks (half of them exceed ten minutes). It was well received in prog circles: the leading prog web site ProgArchives lists it as the best album of the band. My favourites are The Baying Of The Hounds, Beneath The Mire, The Grand Conjuration, and especially Hours Of Wealth.
