Fisherman's Woman
Fisherman's Woman is the fourth studio album by the Icelandic singer-songwriter Emilíana Torrini, her second album to be released internationally. The contrast with her international debut is stunning: the trip hop influences are gone in favour of an acoustic folk sound, dominated by classical guitar. What remains is her cool voice, and her knack of writing melodic songs. Someone compared the album to an upbeat Hope Sandoval, and that's not far off the mark. Particularly strong are Sunnyroad, Lifesaver, Honeymoon Child, Heartstopper, At Least It Was, and Thinking Out Loud.
