Stupid Dream is the fifth studio album by British progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. Right from the excellent first track, the change in direction indicated on Signify is completed: psych/space rock is out, hard rocking prog is in. More emphasis on songs than instrumentals, wonderful melodies, and excellent lyrics by Wilson himself. One critic called it perfectly: "Dramatic, delicate , catchy and powerful in equal measure". Some of my favourite tracks are Even Less, Piano Lessons, Don't Hate Me, This Is No Rehearsal, Baby Dream In Cellophane, Stranger By The Minute, and especially Pure Narcotic.
