Deadwing is the eighth studio album by British progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. The preceding In Absentia is widely regarded as their breakthrough album, and this one can be seen as the logical successor in the same style, cementing their reputation as one of the leaders in modern prog. There are notable guest appearances by King Crimson's Adrian Belew and Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt. Personally, I think the album is just a notch less brilliant than the previous one, but even so, there is plenty to enjoy here, such as the rocking Shallow, the infectious Halo, the melodious Mellotron Scratch, and especially the beautiful ballad Lazarus and the trippy epic Arriving Somewhere But Not Here.
