Sounds of Silence is the second studio album by Simon and Garfunkel. Whereas their debut was very much in the acoustic folk tradition, the second album is better qualified as folk rock. It starts with my favourite song in their repertoire,
The Sound Of Silence, which is actually a remake from the version on the first album. Other favourites include well-known songs like
Kathy's Song (another personal favourite, especially in the later live version),
April Come She Will, and
I Am A Rock, but also less known gems like
Richard Cory, and
A Most Peculiar Man.
