Diamond Dogs is the eighth studio album by English singer-songwriter David Bowie. Inspired by Orwell's novel 1984, this album is Bowie's last venture into glam rock. The first two tracks immediately grab the attention: Future Legend is a short spoken word track about an urban apocalypse, transitioning smoothly into the title tracks, one of the best rockers in his oeuvre. The next three songs form a brilliant 11 minutes mini-suite. The other highlights include the rock anthem Rebel Rebel, the power ballad Rock 'N' Roll With Me, and the funky 1984. This is an album that has always divided the critics - and it took me quite a while to fully appreciate it.
