To the Highest Bidder is the second studio album by Dutch progressive rock band Supersister. Compared to the excellent debut (
link), their sound has become even more their own. No ultra-short songs here, instead three epics ranging from 7 to 15 minutes, and one 3 minutes closer. Their sense of humour is still there, and nowhere more than in the ballad
No Tree Will Grow (On Too High a Mountain), a brilliant and effective sixties prog pop pastiche, ending with a collective burst of laughter. Most reviewers rate this album higher than their first, bit I beg to differ. Still great though.
